Global teams often face communication barriers when participants speak different languages. Existing meeting platforms provide translation features, but these are frequently difficult to discover, require additional setup, or interrupt the meeting flow.
The challenge was to design a meeting experience where real-time translation feels like a natural part of the conversation while remaining simple for first-time users.
Research included studying multilingual meeting participants, analyzing existing conferencing platforms, and identifying common communication challenges.
Key Findings
• Translation settings are often hidden or difficult to access.
• Switching between tools creates unnecessary friction.
• Users expect translation to work automatically.
• Clear visual indicators improve confidence during conversations.
• Fast onboarding is critical for first-time users.
The solution focused on integrating translation directly into the meeting experience with minimal user effort. The interface was designed to reduce setup complexity while ensuring participants always understand the active language and translation status.
Features
• Real-time speech translation
• Live translated subtitles
• Instant language selection
• Simplified onboarding flow
• Cross-language communication support
• Clean and distraction-free meeting interface
The project demonstrated how language barriers can be reduced through thoughtful interface design and seamless feature integration. By prioritizing accessibility and simplicity, the experience helps users focus on communication rather than configuration.
