To understand commuter habits, I surveyed 8 daily cab users. Key issues included confusing app flows, lack of route transparency, and poor driver communication. Users wanted a faster booking process, live ride tracking, and clear fare estimates. Apps like Uber were feature-heavy, making simple rides feel complicated. This insight helped define a more focused and minimal user flow for CabCall.
The design was centered around speed and simplicity. Using Figma, I crafted a clean interface with clear CTAs, real-time ride progress, and simple pickup/drop input. The UI uses bold contrast for readability and rounded elements for a friendly feel. Key screens included the booking home, ride status tracker, and driver detail view.
A prototype was tested with 5 users. They completed core tasks (booking, canceling, tracking rides) with ease. One suggestion was to add a clearer “ride confirmed” screen, which was then updated with haptic-like animations. Overall, users felt CabCall was faster and easier to use than other apps.
